About the Role
As the Indirect Strategic Buyer , you'll play a key role in shaping the future of the purchasing strategy. Working closely with the Purchasing Supervisor and a dynamic team, you will be empowered to negotiate, innovate, and optimize processes, ensuring the business stays ahead of the curve in sourcing the best indirect goods and services.
You'll not only have a voice at the table but also lead the charge in driving cost efficiencies while maintaining top-notch quality, delivery performance, and customer satisfaction. Your expertise will directly impact their success!
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Negotiator:
Masterfully negotiate for the lowest total acquisition costs while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
Cost Reduction Champion: Identify, recommend, and implement creative solutions for cost reduction, adding real value to bottom line.
Supplier Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to establish and agree upon KPIs and standards, ensuring smooth supplier relationships with clear escalation paths.
Market Analyst: Stay on top of commodity market trends to provide critical data for strategic supplier negotiations.
Process Innovator: Lead the charge in controlling and continuously improving the ordering processes for stores, ensuring seamless and efficient operations.
Contract Specialist: Draft purchasing contracts and make supplier recommendations for new and existing requirements, ensuring the business is always working with the best.
Additional Responsibilities
Project Management:
Oversee and manage exciting projects, utilising SMART targets, and ensure they are delivered within pre-agreed budgets and timelines.
Team Support: Partner with departmental management to handle personnel matters, ensuring the team is motivated and thriving.
Safety & Compliance: Champion health and safety practices, and ensure full compliance with policies, including SOX and international standards.
Continuous Improvement: Be an advocate for continuous improvement in everything we do, from processes to team development.
Security: Take ownership of the security within your department, ensuring all areas are safeguarded.
