Salary: £24,000 – £35,000+ per annum (depending on experience, open to negotiation)

Verus Recruitment Partners are delighted to support a well-established engineering business in Sheffield as they seek to appoint a 3D CAD Engineer/Programmer. This full-time, permanent role offers an opportunity to work with advanced laser-cutting technology in a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Role: As a 3D CAD Engineer/Programmer, you will be responsible for programming customer orders for both flat and tube laser cutting machines. This role allows you to engage directly with customers from various engineering sectors, helping to turn their designs into reality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programme 3D tube and 2D flat parts for in-house laser cutting machines.
- Manage customer orders effectively, using your strong organisational and time management skills.
- Work closely with customers to address queries, providing creative solutions through laser cutting techniques.
- Maintain high standards of service and reliability in all customer interactions and internal collaborations.
- Collaborate with the sales team and customers during design and development discussions.
- Explore new products, create sample pieces, and identify new customer markets when possible by experimenting with machine capabilities.
About You:
- Experience: Strong understanding and experience with SolidWorks/CAD software is essential.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting both 2D and 3D technical drawings, whether for individual parts or complete product assemblies.
- Time Management: You excel at prioritising tasks based on urgency, complexity, and the time required for cutting.
- Communication: You have a clear and professional communication style, comfortable engaging with both customers and internal teams.
- Knowledge: Some familiarity with metal specifications and laser cutting methods is an advantage, though not essential.
- Teamwork: You can work effectively within a team but are also confident in handling tasks independently, solving engineering challenges, and taking initiative.
- Willingness to Learn: You are eager to learn new skills, with full training provided to the right candidate.
