Senior BD Manager (Global Regulatory, Investigations & Financial Crime) - World Leading Law Firm

Based in either London, New York or Washington DC, a brilliant marketing and business development opportunity has arisen in one of the world's leading global law firms. You will drive the implementation of the firm's strategy, through the project management and successful delivery of business development, client focus and marketing initiatives for the Global Regulatory, Investigations & Financial Crime Group.

The firm has an ambitious global strategy which puts clients at the very heart of everything they do and have a clear mandate to develop existing strengths and relationships whilst also increasing market share in new markets. The firm's marketing and business development function is seen as pivotal in making this strategy a reality. In this role, you will be part of the team supporting the development of the firm's Global Regulatory, Investigations & Financial Crime group which is part of the firm's market-leading Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. With specialists based across the globe, the group supports financial institutions, corporations, governments and individuals on issues from internal investigations to regulatory enforcement and criminal defence matters, the latter are often multi-jurisdictional and multi-agency investigations. The firm are proud to have been instructed on some of the most complex and high-profile cross-border investigations over recent years, ground-breaking financial services regulatory enforcement actions and key criminal defence cases on behalf of several individuals. With line management responsibility for one individual within the global team, you will enjoy a business critical role offering an opportunity to make a huge impact, working hands-on and proactively with the Global RIFC Leadership team based in Washington DC, London, Frankfurt and Sydney. This will also be a strategic role requiring a high-energy individual to take the lead on the development of RIFC products and the successful delivery of RIFC initiatives and take responsibility for the execution of targeted client development activity across the group. Conducting competitor, client and marketplace analysis to identify new and emerging opportunities, the Senior Business Development Manager will drive the group business planning process and oversee the effective pursuit of opportunities, providing tailored input into significant pitches and capability statements. The successful candidate will also be expected to apply their depth of product knowledge to support client and sector programmes that run across the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice and firmwide. In addition, the role holder will assist in identifying opportunities to position and raise the profile of the group and its individual lawyers, including leading the organisation of client events, seminars and conferences and sponsorships, overseeing multiple marketing communications projects and the delivery of global directory and awards submissions and supporting the creation and distribution of thought leadership material.

In order to perform this senior role successfully, an ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business development, preferably gained within a law firm or as a practicing lawyer involved in RIFC matters. Broad experience in dealing with senior management and key stakeholders and a strong interest in and understanding of the work types covered by the RIFC group will also be essential. Commercially savvy, with a commitment to quality and attention to detail, the Senior Business Development Manager will need to be proactive, resilient and focused, possessing well-developed coaching, influencing and presentation skills, and will be able to demonstrate past success in a leadership role.
