Brakes have an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified Accountant to join the Central Finance Team on a full time, permanent basis!Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a key role that will be the primary financial controls contact for a variety of different stakeholders across the entire business. You will be the primary point of contact for a number of Technical Accounting areas, and will work to establish the same control across all Sysco GB Operating Companies including Brakes, Fresh Direct, KFF and Medina.Brakes - A Sysco company has an exciting 5-year growth strategy plan involving some large-scale transformation programmes and projects, so this is a perfect role and business for someone who enjoys working with senior stakeholders and large divisions closely whilst also looking to gain exposure and experience in a large commercial setting. This is a home-based role, whilst the majority of your time will be spent working from home, you will be required to work from the Ashford, Kent office twice per month for team collaboration and meetings, so must be comfortable travelling to Kent.Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Lease accounting for the Brakes business, including ensuring timely updates for any Lease changes is fed to the Group team for updating in Co Star Managing the Payment Clearing accounts associated with the Leased assets, including working with the Compliance and Central Costs team to cleardown any queries in a timely fashion Liaising with and supporting other Sysco GB Operating Companies with their Lease accounting processes Leading on the Quarterly Lease Verification and Fixed Asset verification process for submission in to the Sysco International team Act as the primary point of contact for Dilapidations accounting across Sysco GB, including rolling out the new accounting template across all Operating Companies to be compliant with Accounting Standards Oversight of Customer Rebates, including updating of the monthly Rebate Dashboard, monitoring of Debit balances with the Commercial teams and accounting for Upfront Rebate Payments correctly Support the Brakes month-end close process ensuring results are delivered in line with agreed timeframes and the process is well controlled and efficient, including submission of BPC financial reporting to Sysco. Support the UK balance sheet monthly reconciliation and review process. Support the external and internal audit processes, ensuring work is delivered on a timely basis. Support with projects as required, including providing Technical input into ERP implementation project.

You'll be newly qualified in CIMA, ACA, ACCA, working in a Finance role looking to take the next step in your career. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced and commercial environment with strong communication and stakeholder manager skills across all levels. An expert at engaging and motivating others to meet their objectives. You will be an analytical thinker applying logical and methodical approaches to problem solving.
