Taxation Manager

S&C Technologies seek a Fund Taxation manager to ensure that all taxation relating to the funds is accounted for correctly and accurately. Working with the technology teams and other stakeholders to develop enhanced processes. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape and define the tax service offering going forwards.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and filing of annual CT600 forms. Review of calculation of Fund tax payments.

Review of interim and final tax provisions

Quarterly tax reviews - review the Funds tax positions that are calculated for the NAV.

Completion of relevant overseas tax forms for the Funds to enable treaty tax rates to be applied, most of these are reviewed and completed on an annual basis.

Complete any ad-hoc tax forms, when required, to open new bank accounts or to trade in markets new to the Fund.

Assistance with furnishing custodians, Depositaries and third parties such as brokers with any tax or legal documentation required to process the Funds taxation requirements (example POA's, tax questionnaires, notarisation of documents).

Manage the relationship with the funds tax agents and liaise with the corresponding custodial overseas agent. Check calculations of any tax returns completed by the agents and liaise with tax agents to ensure accurate and timeliness in the completion of all overseas tax returns.

Review and chase outstanding WHT reclaims across all funds, reconcile positions at XD's between fund records and custodial reports.

Regular review (daily) acquisitions of funds holdings in offshore funds between reporting and non-reporting funds and ensure that set up is correct for tax purposes.

Regular review, in conjunction with work carried out by other teams, of excess reportable income being declared and correct inclusion of such in the NAVs.

Assist internal stakeholders such as Pricing and Project teams with queries relating to Fund taxation such as WHT queries and Fund launches.

Review monthly reporting for Financial Transaction Taxes (FTT) purposes.

Assist with any HMRC enquiries, liaise with HMRC as required including filing of appeal letters.

Secondary Responsibilities

To identify potential risks and to bring those to the attention of the Head of Fund Operations.

Develop and implement enhancements to internal procedures and processes in collaboration with technology teams utilising the wider SS&C technology stack.

Ensure junior colleagues receive adequate support and tax on-the-job training.

Attending relevant training courses as and when required.
