Our client, a thriving business located near the end of the M55 is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:
As an Accounts Assistant, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Posting accruals and prepayments.
- Checking and coding invoices and employee expenses.
- Recording all non-allowable expenses to assist in the completion of the PAYE Settlement.
- Ensuring compliance with VAT rules and regulations.
- Utilising Excel for various accounting tasks and data analysis.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of VAT rules and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is advantageous but not essential.
- Relevant accounting qualifications or working towards one (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) will be considered a plus.
