Job Title: Locum Criminal Lawyer

Job description: We're currently recruiting for an Criminal Lawyer to join an established law firm in South Yorkshire on a locum basis, where the client is looking for someone to start ASAP.
The firm are willing to consider both full or part-time applicants, however the successful candidate must be willing to attend the office each working day.
The initial length of the assignment would be 3 months with the likelihood of further extension.
This role is targeted to an individual who has experience covering their own caseload, with minimal supervision, and has experience dealing with the following areas:
- Criminal Solicitor to work in a busy criminal department established in Barnsley for over 40 years
- Covering all aspects of work from police station attendances, Magistrates Court advocacy and
- Crown Court litigation
- Handling a caseload of work within the Magistrates Court
- Providing high standards of service to private and publicly funded clients
- Attending clients at police stations
- Providing advice and advocacy within the Magistrates Court
- Acting as Litigator on Crown Court cases
- Liaising with clients
- Applying for Legal Aid
- Managing a full caseload and ongoing work coming into the department
- Servicing your Duty Solicitor Rotas
Hourly rate: Negotiable (outside IR35)
