Our client is a leading manufacturing company specialising in high-quality products, known for their commitment to precision and excellence. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated forge team member to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. If you have a strong work ethic, an eye for detail, and experience in a heavy engineering environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
You will be responsible for shaping and forging metal components to exact specifications, playing a key role in the production process. This is a physically demanding role that requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards. Please note - you will be required to work a variety of shifts over a 24 hour period; 6am until 2pm, 2pm until 10pm and 10pm until 6am, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain forge equipment.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Input and modify programmes on computer controls.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Perform fettling, painting and shotblasting duties..
- Collaborate with the production team to meet daily and weekly output targets.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a heavy engineering environment is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good physical fitness and stamina, as the role involves heavy lifting and working in high temperatures.
- A proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety standards and the ability to adhere to them strictly.
- Ability to be flexible, and work mornings, afternoons and nights.
