Role: Solar PV Design Engineer
Salary: £70,000 DOE
Location: Mainly remote
Piper Maddox have started working with a client who are going through a rapid period of growth with no plan of slowing down. Due to their extensive commercial and industrial solar project pipeline, they are seeking to make a key Solar PV Design Engineer hire.
As a Solar PV Design Engineer, you'll take charge of creating and implementing innovative solar PV designs that drive efficiency and sustainability. From concept to commissioning, you'll play a key role in the delivery of cutting-edge energy infrastructure projects. Working closely with multi-disciplinary engineers, your designs will contribute to the companies Net Zero target push.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of solar PV systems, including shading analysis, 3D modelling, and electrical diagrams.
- Simulate and optimize solar generation performance using advanced software.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure projects meet customer needs and timelines.
- Ensure all designs comply with safety, quality, and industry standards.
- Provide technical recommendations to improve the performance and efficiency of systems.
What You'll Need:
- Proven experience in Solar PV design, with a track record in rooftop and ground mount installations.
- Familiarity with PV components, manufacturers, and design software like AutoCAD and PV*SOL/PVSyst.
- Understanding of LV and HV electrical works in relation to solar PV systems.
- Awareness of the commercial impact of design decisions.
- Full UK/EU driving license.
