IT Manager - Edinburgh - 50K plus Bonus

*** 4 Days per week in Central Edinburgh office, 1 day WFH ***

Lorien's client - a rapidly growing organisation in the Telecoms domain with exciting plans to double their client base once again by the end the year - is currently looking to bolster its team in the shape of an IT Manager. Having introduced new talent into other areas of this business ourselves previously, we're happy to share with you the great feedback we've received, and give you some great insights as to the opportunity on offer here.

As a hands-on technical leadership figure, you'll take the reins managing and shaping the IT function, ranging from hardware offerings through to IT systems/platforms, making sure they're in line with industry standards and that your colleagues have access to the right tech to perform their own roles.

As well as this, you'll also be leading IT oriented projects from concept stages through to completion, liaising with people from different disciplines across the organisation and making sure everyone is on the same page and up to date. You will also take charge where it comes to outlining agreed procedures and processes for this area of the business, and act as the go-to point of escalation for issues yet to be resolved.

In return for your efforts, they are happy to offer not only a starting salary of up to 50K, but also a bonus of up to 10%, some hybrid flexibility and more, so take a look at the finer details below and let us know if you'd like to learn more:

You will:

  • Shape and improve the internal IT function from Helpdesk upwards to support key requirements
  • Take the lead on IT-related projects across the firm, being both hands-on while acting as a technical SME for with non-technical colleagues
  • Coordinate with other areas of the business to gather requirements, outline expected timeframes, and manage relevant resources/personnel
  • Ensure everyone involved is up to date as you move along the project lifecycle
  • Make sure that all IT systems/platforms align to the latest standards/regulatory requirements
  • Define, document, review and update relevant process and procedures for internal IT Support
  • Keep and improve relationships with 3rd party vendors, service providers and other key contacts
  • Resolve issues and act as the go-to escalation point for less senior IT staff

What they'd like you to bring to the table:

  • Proven track record as a hands-on IT Manager or perhaps something like Technical Project Lead or similar and looking to step up
  • Demonstrable technical project management skills and a background including leading on IT-related projects (ideally involving IT transitions)
  • Strong grasp of systems/infrastructure/compliance requirements
  • Able to lead from the front and communicate with people from different disciplines and at various levels
