Audit Manager

Our client, a distinguished leader in the finance sector focusing on employability solutions, is looking for an Audit Manager to enhance their Audit team. This position is based in Middlesbrough and offers a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to the company's control systems and risk management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead audit activities, including planning, execution, and reporting within time lines while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor a governance framework to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with stakeholders across the business to aid in risk management and operational improvements.
  • Generate comprehensive audit reports, highlighting risks and offering solutions to senior management.
  • Oversee fraud prevention initiatives and direct internal investigations to safeguard the organisation against financial and reputational damage.
  • Manage multiple audit projects, ensuring all are aligned with the company's objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Continuously update the business's internal audit plan and risk assessment framework.
  • Provide leadership in embedding robust fraud and whistleblowing practices across the organisation.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in internal auditing or risk management within a finance or related environment.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards.
  • Capacity to manage and prioritise multiple projects effectively.
  • Highly analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient in building relationships at all organisational levels.
  • Professional qualifications in ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
