I am looking for a proactive and versatile Management Assistant to support the Market Manager and other management staff in the day-to-day operations of my client's vibrant business. This role includes overseeing market activities, ensuring health and safety compliance, and maintaining strong relationships with traders and contractors. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, adept in social media, and able to deputise for management as needed, particularly on Saturdays.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Supervise the operational delivery of the Market, including cleaning, waste disposal, and contractor oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Be a regular presence in the market, fostering strong relationships with traders and overseeing licensing and insurance requirements.
  • Assist with the collection of market rents and support the implementation of market events and promotions.
  • Oversee the company's social media presence, coordinating with external contractors to promote trader initiatives.
  • Conduct weekly inspections of the estate, report issues, and coordinate repairs.
  • Supervise external contracts, ensuring all statutory requirements for Risk Assessments and Method Statements are met.
  • Understand and manage the car park operation, including rota delivery and payroll management for the car park team.
  • Undertake additional activities as required by the Management team to support continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, such as Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing circumstances.
  • Social media proficiency.
  • Availability to work Saturdays and provide cover outside of normal working hours.
