Are you a Junior Merchandiser looking for an exciting new opportunity in a fast paced business or an Assistant Merchandiser ready for the next step? If the answer is yes, then we want to speak to you!

We are looking for a Junior Merchandiser to join our DIY Buying & Merch team. You will be involved in working with the Senior Merchandiser on the day-to-day running of the department.

The role is full time, office based at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool L24.

The Key Accountabilities in the role are:

  • Working to tight deadlines to ensure the correct level of stock is maintained throughout the year. Placing emphasis on key trading periods i.e. new product range launches, seasonal peaks, promotional events etc.
  • Supporting the management of core stock orders, which is the main weekly task of the department, identifying opportunities and mitigating stock/sales risks
  • Analysing data from the previous year and current trends to identify incremental sales/profit throughout the range in relation to our supply base.
  • Cultivating close working relationships with key suppliers to ensure the business is supported by them.
  • Maintain and update Linecards on a daily basis with understanding of how that fits into overall WSSI management.
  • Working to calendars, which involves forecasting crucial lines for long periods whether UK or FOB specific.
  • Being proficient in the use of Excel where the business uses heavily formulated worksheets to manipulate reports into the desired information required.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills:

  • Experience as a Junior Merchandiser or a strong Assistant Merchandiser ready to step up to manage own categories within the department.
  • Results orientated with a track record of achieving targets & delivering growth.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders, Buying team & suppliers.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, methodical with numbers.
  • Able to utilise data to fully understand customer behaviour and habits.
  • Adaptable and capable of working to flexible departmental priorities.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office in particular Excel with real attention to detail.
