An opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team on 1 14 month contract. This role is supporting a varied portfolio of clients within the land, property, and agricultural sectors.
This is a broad role with responsibility for preparing management accounts, VAT returns (including partial exemption), and regular financial reports. You will also assist with year-end accounts and liaise with clients and external advisors on a range of financial matters.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparation of VAT returns and monitoring De Minimis levels
- Producing accrual-based management accounts
- Compiling monthly/quarterly financial or rental reports
- Resolving general ledger and VAT coding queries
- Preparing files and supporting year-end reporting processes
You will work closely with colleagues across the finance team as well as liaising regularly with clients, bookkeepers, and external advisors.
What we're looking for:
- A finance-related degree or AAT qualification (or studying towards)
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Confident communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
