Salary: £25,000 to £30,000

My client is an established practice that is looking for a Payroll/Bookkeeper to join the in-house team in their Newport office. The role will report into the Senior Accountants across their offices and supporting them with a range of payroll, CIS and bookkeeping tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate records of monthly accruals and prepayments, monthly depreciation, assets, credit card payment and liabilities & enter journals.
  • Processing and submitting all VAT payments
  • Preparation and administration of weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and annual payrolls.
  • Distribution of online payslips and documents.
  • Administration of PAYE, National Insurance deductions based on individual personal allowances.
  • Mandatory deductions and other statutory payments.
  • Be responsible for running P45 and P60 certificates when required and filing information on line (FPS, EPS etc) to HMRC before the due date.
  • Calculation of termination and redundancy payments.
  • Liaise with HMRC

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Experience of working in practice in a payroll and bookkeeping capacity
  • Conversant with commercial payroll & accounting packages such as Brightpay, Xero, Quickbooks, etc
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills with a deep practical knowledge of Excel.
