As a UI/UX developer, you'll collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to create exceptional user interfaces that exceed basic business requirements. Our department is friendly and fast-paced, handling a high volume of requests from various business units. You'll work on diverse projects, from simple single-user applications to complex enterprise systems used globally. We're looking for a passionate advocate of UI/UX best practices to keep us at the forefront of IT innovation. As part of our International IT Software Engineering group, you'll engage in multiple projects and initiatives, making a significant impact. What you'll be doing: * Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to gather and evaluate user requirements * Design both prototype and production user interfaces for web and mobile applications covering both internal and external facing applications * Develop and maintain front-end code using HTML and CSS/SCSS * Conduct usability testing and gather feedback from users to improve and refine interfaces * Stay up to date with the latest UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies * Collaborate with the software engineering team to integrate user-facing elements * Create and maintain a consistent design system and style guide in line with style guides * Offer UI/UX/usability/accessibility advice to teams across IT * Ensure the UI/UX designs are technically feasible within the guideline of an appropriate level of complexity Our must haves: * A proven track record as UI/UX developer * Experience of UI/UX design tooling such as Figma etc. * Excellent HTML and CSS/SCSS knowledge * Experience of Agile project delivery and effective use in large Enterprises * Experience with user research and usability testing * Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices * Understanding of web performance optimization techniques * Excellent communication skills and the ability to talk effectively to a variety of stakeholders The following skills, knowledge and experience are desirable but are not essential: * Experience of using Angular * Experience of bootstrap * Any experience working in a Speciality Commercial Insurance or Financial Services business is advantageous Who we are: Avencia Consulting are an RPO who provide a recruitment service to our client What's in it for you? * A great starting salary plus annual bonus & strong benefits package... * 25 days paid holiday plus Bank Holidays, with the opportunity to buy / sell extra leave * Fantastic company pension scheme, private medical and dental cover, life assurance, travel insurance cover, income protection, season ticket loan as well as other great benefits on offer * There are countless opportunities to learn new skills and develop in your career and we can provide the support needed to do just that!
