Logistics & Quality Assistant

My client based in Toddington (Nr Cheltenham) one of the fastest growing Green Energy companies in the UK are looking to recruit a Logistics Quality Assistant to join their team.

100% office based.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will follow, improve and ensure the implementation of the company's current quality procedures, standards and specifications. As well as reviewing effective and inventive ways to move products globally

Responsibilities for this Logistics & Quality role will include:

  • Liaise as appropriately with internal and external customers to ensure all deliveries are completed in a timely efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Continue to improve any cost/budget research to ensure suppliers of logistics to us are within budget and to ISO standards
  • Find cost effective and inventive ways to move products globally (to include China) while remaining agile in changing processes whenever needed.
  • Liaise with other managers and staff and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards within logistics
  • Ensure that method statements and risk assessments are in place and reviewed appropriately.
  • Ensure Logistics standards are compliant and approved by ISO 9001
  • Measure performance and identify any areas of weakness, recommending and implementing improvements.
  • Assess the effectiveness of changes made in relation to Quality in Logistics.
  • Ensure knowledge is up to date regarding legislative requirements, recommended codes of practice, and new safety literature.
  • Assist, when required, with accident or incident investigations and monitor the effective reporting of all accidents, incidents and near misses in accordance with the policy procedures.
  • Work with procurement to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
  • Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
  • Attend workshops, health and safety updates and safety forums.

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Good working knowledge of logistics within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Experience of global shipping
  • Health, Safety and Quality experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organisational levels
  • You work seamlessly as part of the team, or when required on your own
