Job Title: Head of Communications

Location: East Midlands (Hybrid working with some UK-wide travel)

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Head of Communications to join one of our amazing clients who is in the Healthcare space. This newly designed role is based in East Mids and offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with the expectation of some UK-wide travel. The successful candidate will develop and lead the total communications strategy, covering both internal and external to enhance their brand presence, and ensure the messaging is consistent, compelling, and impactful across all channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the business goals and objectives.
  • Internal Communications: Foster a culture of open and effective internal communication, ensuring all employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with the company's mission and values. Enhance employee engagement and promote a strong employer brand.
  • External Communications: Oversee the development and implementation of external communication initiatives to enhance the company's reputation and recognition.
  • Brand Management: Manage and elevate the company's brand presence both internally and externally.
  • Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and manage media inquiries and interviews.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior leadership and government officials, to align communications efforts with organizational priorities.
  • Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to effectively manage any potential issues or incidents.
  • Regulatory Communications: Ensure all communications comply with relevant regulations and guidelines. Experience working in a regulated environment is essential.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small content creation team, fostering professional growth and development.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior communications role, ideally within a regulated environment. Having developed and executed a Comms Strategy.
  • Experience dealing with government officials and understanding regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of digital communication channels and social media platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic communication plans.
  • Experience managing media relations and handling crisis communications.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
