Autism Support Worker

  • Annual Salary: £23,868 - £29,172 FTE

  • Job Type: Permanent (Fixed term funded post until 31 March 2025)

We are seeking an Autism Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Birmingham. This vital role supports children with Autism or those undergoing an autism assessment, as well as their families, to better understand the diagnosis and develop strategies to manage behaviour. Our service is collaboratively developed with parents, carers, and the children themselves.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide short-term home-based autism programmes to children with an autism diagnosis or undergoing an assessment, and their families.
  • Enhance carers' skills and abilities to improve family functioning.
  • Work under supervision to ensure effective delivery of services.
  • Engage with families to develop personalised support plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on service delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in supporting children with Autism or similar roles.
  • Knowledge of autism and the ability to develop strategies to manage behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
