Deputy Nursery Manager

Nurse Seekers are proud to be working on behalf of one of the UK's leading childcare providers who are looking to recruit a Deputy Nursery Manager for their quality Day Nursery based near Daventry, Northamptonshire.

The ideal Deputy Nursery Manager candidate will be a key holder and accountable for the day to day running of the nursery and will step up in the absence of the Nursery Manager. You will manage the team of Room Managers/Senior Room Managers and coach them by role modelling your knowledge and best practice.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As Assistant Manager of the nursery you have responsibility to ensure the relevant statutory and legal welfare and curriculum requirements are always met throughout the nursery
  • Safeguarding children is your priority making sure all children, staff and visitors in the setting are safe and protected from harm
  • Be a key point of contact at the start or end of each day to all parents and visitors
  • Work with the Nursery Manager to market and sell the nursery places effectively and professionally and always ensure that our show rounds are excellent
  • Identify and support parents with any SEN/ASL needs their child has or that are identified with respect, care and professionalism
  • Support the Nursery Manager with office duties to include Recruitment, the completion of payroll, invoicing and the management of child accounts
  • Organise and attend training internally and externally to ensure you and your teams are always up to date with curriculums / programme requirements in the nursery
  • Alongside the Nursery Manager be responsible for ensuring that the nursery receives excellent outcomes in internal audits and those of external authorities such as Ofsted, CI and CIW
  • Monitor children's observations ensuring they provide a detailed reflective account of the child's current development needs and are providing developmentally appropriate challenging next steps
  • Lead your team and train then to ensure the nursery is always abiding by HR policies and procedures

Qualifications & Experience Needed

  • NNEB or BTEC Nat Dip or CACHE Dip in Childcare or NVQ level 3 or SVQ
  • At least 3 years occupational experience working and caring for children under 5 within a nursery environment
  • At least 1 year's current experience in a supervisory role
  • Passion to deliver high quality childcare and exciting learning opportunities
