Personal Injury Paralegal

Salary £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience

We are working with a well-established, Lexcel accredited multi-office law firm who are seeking an experienced Claimant Personal Injury Paralegal to join their established and friendly team based in Birmingham City Centre.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting a Claimant Personal Injury Fee Earner, with their caseload which will include work-related claims, road traffic accident claims, criminal injury compensation claims, slip/trip claims, uninsured/ untraced driver claims and clinical/medical negligence claims
  • Running your own caseload of personal injury fast track claims (either immediately or in the longer term depending on your level of experience)
  • Producing schedule of loss statements
  • Taking witness statements
  • Assessing and redacting bank statements

Suitable candidates will have:

  • A minimum of two years' paralegal experience and at least one year's experience working in either claimant personal injury or clinical negligence
  • Ideally experience of running your own personal injury caseload
  • Experience of using the OIC portal
  • Sound knowledge of the litigation process
  • The ability to work to deadlines and targets
  • A good level of computer literacy

Suitable candidates will have:

  • 2-3 years' experience as a Paralegal or similar
  • At least 1 year's experience in Personal Injury and/or Clinical Negligence, ideally having run your own caseload of PI matters
  • Experience of running claims through the rapid claims portal
  • Knowledge of the litigation process, including funding of cases

This is a full time permanent job working 35 hours per week, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. The role will initially be office based, with hybrid working available following a successful probation period.
