We are seeking a Payroll Administrator with a strong understanding of UK payroll procedures and laws. The role involves assisting in the preparation of monthly payroll runs and providing support to the Head of Corporate Services. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and possess excellent Excel skills.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Monitor the payroll and absence inboxes daily.
  • Process doctors' notes, absence records, new starter documentation, and leaver details.
  • Upload staff purchase deductions and overtime payments.
  • Assist in the processing of monthly payroll and weekly expense runs.
  • Produce monthly journal entries and post to the nominal ledger.
  • Assist with payroll year-end activities and general payroll enquiries.
  • Maintain personnel records within iTrent, including position transfers and changes in hours or reporting managers.
  • Perform various HR administrative duties, including issuing standard letters and confidential scanning/filing.
  • Calculate long service awards and update P11D software.
  • Produce monthly headcount spreadsheets and provide data analysis to the finance team.
  • Calculate HMRC and other payroll-related payments.
  • Assist with audit queries and the maintenance of internal policy documents.
  • Help manage healthcare and group life policies, company car fleet, rewards program, and Learning Management System.
  • Undertake any other ad hoc tasks as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current knowledge of UK payroll procedures and related laws.
  • Familiarity with payroll software, preferably iTrent.
  • A keen eye for detail, an analytical mind, and good numeracy skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and communicate clearly.
  • A hands-on approach, results-oriented, and able to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent Excel skills.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £24k - £26k.

  • Working hours: 8.45 am - 5.30 pm Monday to Thursday (45 mins lunch), 8.45 am - 3 pm Friday (30 mins lunch), totalling 37.75 hours per week.
