AVP Corporate Strategy - Insurance

£90,000 - £110,000 per annum
The AVP, Corporate Strategy plays a leading role in the company's corporate strategy function, assisting with formulating, communicating, implementing and sustaining a robust and dynamic corporate strategy to guide business decisions and resource allocation.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- With senior management, execute the company's annual strategy process, including researching, analysing, and drafting the company's statement of strategy for approval by the Board of Directors.
- Assist senior management in clearly communicating the strategy so that all employees understand the details of the strategic plan and how their work connects to corporate aims and objectives.
- Assist business unit and functional leaders to develop annual tactical plans balancing group strategic aims and objectives with day-to-day business and operational priorities.
- Monitor business performance on the strategy by developing qualitative and quantitative measurements, and concise progress reports suitable for senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Drive and sustain organizational change by coordinating with change leaders and resources to ensure tight alignment between strategic aims and objectives, strategic initiatives and projects, tactical plans, and functional priorities and execution
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE NECESSARY:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a combination of roles that may include strategy consulting, internal strategy, investment banking, business development, underwriting/risk, and similar disciplines at complex and respected firms.
- University degree from an accredited institution.
- Broad knowledge of the global reinsurance industry (including the U.S. and Lloyd's) and Board-level strategic challenges likely to face the industry in the future.
- Experience in the strategy formulation and planning cycle for a large organization with cross-functional engagement and prioritization, including excellent knowledge of strategic planning concepts and frameworks.
