Position: Locum Employment Lawyer
Organisation: Home Counties based Local Authority
Rate: up to £55 per hour Umbrella (depending on experience level)
Duration: 3 months + strong likelihood of extension confirmed thereafter
Working hours: Full time or part time hours can be considered for this opportunity
Working Arrangement: Predominantly remote working, need to attend Tribunals when required
This position is welcomed for Junior Lawyers or newly qualified Solicitors to apply. However, the ideal candidates will have a strong knowledge of Employment Law and previous experience working within the Public Sector.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Providing a full spectrum of advice and guidance on Employment Law and delivering the advice to clients of the organisation
- Acting on behalf of the Local Authority; external SLA clients (other Local Authorities), schools, academies to provide a full spectrum of Employment law advice & Litigation service
- Advising client departments on conduct, capability and redundancy procedures and relevant Employment Law Legislation
- To be able to prepare, manage casework and undertake advocacy work for Employment Tribunals
- Attending Employment Tribunals when required and supporting work given from other Local Authorities
