Daily Rate: £100.00 - £130.00

Description: A prestigious secondary school in Kensington is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Science Technician with a specialisation in Physics to join our team for the new school year starting in September. This is a full-time position offering a competitive daily rate.

Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory Management: Oversee the preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials for Physics lessons.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to teachers and students during practical Physics lessons and experiments.
  • Resource Preparation: Prepare and set up equipment, materials, and experiments for Physics classes, ensuring all resources are available and in working order.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all laboratory activities comply with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments as necessary.
  • Inventory Management: Manage and maintain stock levels of laboratory supplies and equipment, placing orders as required.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on laboratory equipment, ensuring all apparatus are functioning correctly.
  • Training: Assist in training and supervising junior technicians and providing guidance to staff on the use of equipment.
  • Support for Extracurricular Activities: Assist with science clubs, competitions, and other extracurricular activities related to Physics.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Physics.
  • Proven experience working in a school laboratory environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
