Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sports Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working with young people and a commitment to making a positive impact on their lives through sports and physical activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging sports programs tailored to the needs and abilities of our students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and personal development.
  • Work closely with other staff to integrate sports and physical education into the broader curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their goals.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles and the importance of physical activity.
  • Manage sports equipment and ensure the safety of all participants during activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A relevant coaching qualification or degree in sports science, physical education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational or youth work setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities.
  • Patience, resilience, and a sense of humour.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young
  • Runcorn PRU is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

To be considered for this position you will:
- have previous school experience and be familiar with the SIMS system
- Be a committed professional
- Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person
-Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one (costs refunded back to you when you complete 20 days work)
-have satisfactory references
-have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained;
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
