The Role: Network Support Engineer

Location: Manchester City centre with hybrid working

Package: £26,000 - £34,000 with solid benefits - health, enhanced pension, bonuses, various perks such as wellbeing days.

We're looking for a network support engineer, ideally from a service provider back ground (ISP/MSP) background to join this rapid growth builder and operator of next generation networks across the UK.

They are well funded, growing and from the Manchester City Centre location, you'll join the 1st - 2nd line network support team and troubleshoot and sort a range of network connectivity issues for their business customers, so WAN, LAN, WiFi & VoIP.

It's a mixed vendor environment with bias towards Juniper, Mikrotik, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, UniFi and Ruckus but we're more interested in who you are as a network support engineer, rather than nailing down a specific vendor or piece of kit - it's assumed you are 1st / 2nd line level, and if you don't know something, you'll have the drive and wits to learn it.

Who are you?

Network support engineer from the service provider background and someone who is quite end to end, with the finger on the pulse by way of "What's next?" when it comes to automation and innovation across network connectivity. It's business customer focused so you'd need that B2B experience alongside routing and switching support and configuration alongside both LAN & WAN with WiFi experience.

You don't need the specific qualification but we'd like to think you would be around the JNCIA level or in Cisco world, a CCNA.

The company continue to grow, have a modern attitude towards work and culture and can contribute a lot towards your own development plus, it's definitely a give and take environment and we are hearing about a lot of initiatives that are going to allow you to focus on doing a great job, but without burning yourself out.

Hybrid working, you would likely be in the office 3 days per week and it's a normal Monday to Friday working hours, no shifts but you'd have the opportunity to join the on-call rota once settled in.
