ASA are currently working with a large-scale client in the public sector who are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audit and Risk Manager to join their team on an interim basis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing our internal audit and risk management strategies across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Audit and Risk Management: Spearhead the creation and implementation of internal audit processes, ensuring full compliance with Public Sector Internal Audit Standards and meeting organisational assurance requirements.
- Oversee Outsourced Audit Services: Manage and work closely with external audit partners to maintain and uphold high standards throughout the organisation.
- Standardise Risk Management: Develop and enforce consistent, best-practice risk management procedures across all areas of the organisation.
- Develop Assurance Frameworks: Establish a comprehensive, organisation-wide Assurance Framework based on the lines of defence model, tailored to meet operational and governance needs.
- Support Risk Committees: Provide assistance to the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committees, including reporting on audit and risk assurance matters to the respective boards.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualifications: Qualified accountant or auditor with significant internal audit and risk management experience, preferably in the public sector.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with the capacity to communicate complex information effectively to non-experts.
- Organisational Excellence: Proven ability to manage complex, multifaceted projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of building constructive relationships in a multi-disciplinary environment.
