Sen Teaching Assistant

Our special school, for children and young people aged 2-19 with severe and complex needs, is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their unique setting. The school is committed to providing the best care and education, striving to equip students with the necessary skills for their journey into adulthood. Day to Day of the role:

  • Work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff, supporting pupils within the classroom environment.
  • Provide support to pupils with complex SEND, including physical, communication, sensory, SEMH, and cognition and learning needs.
  • Assist with the preparation and routine maintenance of classroom resources and equipment.
  • Develop knowledge and skills required for effective support in a SEN setting.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a SEN setting.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with complex needs.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to professional development and learning.
