Secondary school SENCO Position
Position: SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Location: Haringey
Salary: £63,000 - £67,000
Start Date: ASAP
We are currently working alongside a developed mainstream Secondary School in Haringey looking for an experienced SENCO to join their team. Are you an experienced education professional with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs? This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the students while contributing to an inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate special educational needs provision across the school.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support students.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) & Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Leading and managing staff within SEN
- Monitor and track student progress, ensuring tailored support is provided.
- In class teaching across the curriculum
- Making referrals
- Collaborate with staff to create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
- A SENCO qualification or actively working towards gaining one
- QTS not essential but desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of SEN needs
- A commitment to promoting inclusivity and student wellbeing.
