Their Dartington school provides a supportive and child-centric environment for primary age pupils with ASD, trauma and SEMH needs. Their nurturing setting is enriched by the THRIVE approach and boasts excellent resources to facilitate exceptional learning experiences.

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher to join their Dartington school on a permanent full-time basis. As a Primary Teacher, you will lead small class groups (maximum 8 pupils) in delivering the primary curriculum and functional skills. Each pupil has an Individual Education Plan tailored to their specific needs, and you will be supported by specialist SEN Teaching Assistants who are integral to the inclusive educational approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of pupils with ASD , trauma-based needs and SEMH.
  • Collaborate with SEN TAs to provide individualised support and ensure each pupil's progress is monitored and celebrated.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports the emotional well-being and academic growth of every child.
  • Implement the THRIVE approach principles to enhance pupils' social and emotional development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching primary age pupils.
  • Experience in working with children with ASD, trauma-based needs and SEMH needs.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons effectively to meet the varying needs of pupils within small class settings.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies.
