Finance Assitant

Key Responsibilities

General and Task Management

  • To post and reconcile purchase ledger, including credit card purchases
  • To prepare a weekly supplier pay run
  • Control of office stationery and office supplies
  • Reconciliation of Fixed Assets and depreciation
  • Control of Fixed Asset register
  • Support in the preparation of monthly VAT reports and quarterly returns
  • Assist with preparation of monthly reports
  • To support with ad hoc finance functions
  • Some other administration duties as and when

  • Liaise and communicate with other departments, suppliers, and other service providers
  • Be an effective team member, working with Finance executive and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow with maximum output

Pre-requisites and Attributes

  • AAT level 2 or above
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in keeping a full set of books would be preferred
  • Proficient in handling accounts payables from purchase to pay (including the preparation of VAT returns), managing the fixed assets register (computing the associated depreciation expenses, reconciliation to the general ledger and tagging for tracking purposes)
  • Familiar with the basic internal controls applicable to the finance processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of bank reconciliation statements, other supporting general ledger schedules as well as the financial statements for reporting purposes
  • Knowledge of Xero accounting system would be an added advantage
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills
  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
  • Meticulous with problem-solving skills
  • Minimum two years' experience in project costing

Technical System Knowledge

  • Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, Teams)
  • Finance systems exposure (Xero)
