A global leader in the product and services market, seeks a Legal Assistant for an initial period of 3 months, likely to be extended.
Your new role
Working closely with General Counsel, the Group Data Protection Officer and the rest of the Legal team, the role of Legal Assistant is an integral part of the high quality of service that will be provided to their in-house client base. A core facet will be liaising with business stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure the smooth running of proceedings.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the smooth running of a busy legal and data protection function with appropriate administrative and paralegal support.
- Drafting various contracts from standard forms, negotiating, concluding and then tracking contracts at various stages of execution, including licence agreements, contractual/commercial agreements, confidentiality agreements, procurement agreements and other required documentation.
- Working closely with the commercial teams to assist them with concluding agreements and to provide them with initial advice on legal queries.
- Maintaining contract lifecycle management software; assisting as necessary to prepare amendment agreements/new contracts.
- Assisting with projects (e.g. data protection updates, AI governance matters and legal dept. initiatives).
- Recording and assisting with response to Data Protection Agreements, Data Subject Access Requests, customer privacy queries and complaints.
- Assisting with contentious matters, including review of existing agreements and correspondence, and research on legal issues.
- Assisting with keeping precedents and policies up to date.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a law degree / equivalent qualification, experience with contract lifecycles and previous in house legal knowledge.
You will be used to operating with multinational organisations.
