About Us:
Prospero Teaching are working with a SEND school in Wolverhampton who are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with their learning and development.
The school are an alternative provision and many of their students have been diagnosed SEND/SEMH (or are awaiting diagnosis), and/or have been excluded from at least one mainstream school so behaviour management and building strong rapports is key in this role.

You will work closely with a fantastic team of teachers and other staff to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring that all students can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of lesson plans tailored for students with SEND.
  • Provide one-on-one support or small group instruction to students, ensuring effective engagement and understanding.
  • Collaborate with teachers to monitor and assess students progress, addressing any learning barriers.
  • Help create and maintain a positive and structured learning environment that fosters independence and confidence.
  • Support students during activities, including breaks, lunchtimes, and school events.
  • Foster communication and relationships with students, parents, and external agencies as needed.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting SEND students.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or adults with SEND
  • Strong understanding of various SEND needs, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, and emotional/behavioural difficulties.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • A patient and empathetic approach, along with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
