Finance Manager

My client is a leading manufacturing company committed to excellence and continuous improvement. We value our employees and strive to create a dynamic and supportive work environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Financial Controller to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting:

  • Ensure the accurate and timely submission of month-end close reports to the Corporate Finance team in accordance with reporting timetables.
  • Prepare routine monthly reporting schedules, monitoring variances to budget, prior year, and forecast.

Statutory Compliance:

  • Complete all required statutory submissions (VAT Returns / Payments etc.) wholly, accurately, and timely.
  • Manage day-to-day authorisations, payments, credit notes, and other financial transactions.

Audit:

  • Ensure accurate and timely statutory reporting.
  • Successfully complete year-end audits.

Business Partnering:

  • Financial Analysis: Provide Business Partnering services to the Plant Management team to ensure the achievement of overall plant objectives. Analyse data to initiate improvements, cost savings, and continuous improvement.
  • Cost Accounting, Inventory, and Assets: Work with the team to ensure accurate and complete accounting and reporting of job costs, overhead, inventory controls and policies, and physical counts.
  • Working Capital Management: Collaborate with Plant Operations and local AR Collections clerk to drive working capital reduction and continuously improve collections and inventory management processes.
  • Investment Proposals: Conduct financial analysis of capital projects, validate the savings claimed, and track/validate these savings once the project is complete.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Manage and complete site budgeting/forecasting processes in line with corporate timelines. Ensure thorough analysis and bridging are undertaken.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement.

People Management:

  • Provide leadership and development for two locally based Accounting clerks.

Safety:

  • Ensure the safety of associates within the accounting function.

Culture:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, statutory compliance, and auditing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team development abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
