As the People Director, you will play a crucial role in crafting our clients HR and people strategies. Reporting to the CEO/MD, you will be an integral member of the People Leadership team and wider Extended Leadership team.

The People Director is a professional who is responsible for developing HR strategies, overseeing operations, and ensuring compliance. They support the human factor, lead HR initiatives, develop culture and provide guidance.

The role:

  • Setting and driving a people strategy.
  • You will develop people growth plans that sit perfectly alongside our business growth strategy.
  • You will oversee great quality performance conversations and promote a high performing culture across the business.
  • You will develop effective succession planning and a well-resourced talent pipeline meeting current and future needs of the business.
  • You will champion employee engagement, evaluating, identifying, and addressing engagement trends and measure successful implementation
  • Working closely with business leaders and line management you provide expert guidance on a variety of people matters.
  • Developing and improving rewards.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading a portfolio of initiatives, ensuring all plans are aligned and delivered flawlessly while articulating risks and dependencies.
  • You will develop people growth plans that sit perfectly alongside our business growth strategy.
  • Partnering with senior directors to implement the strategic People, culture, and capability plan.
  • You will collaborate with our central People & Culture team, department heads, managers, and employees to provide guidance, support, and solutions to HR-related challenges, driving initiatives that enhance HR processes, policies, and systems to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • You will oversee great quality performance conversations and promote a high performing culture across the business.
  • Supporting management teams hands-on, driving initiatives, and resolving grievances.
  • Ensuring seamless hiring and high talent retention with the talent acquisition team.
  • You will champion employee engagement.
  • Executing end-of-year reviews, supporting performance plans, onboarding, and exits.
  • Working closely with business leaders and line management you provide expert guidance on a variety of people matters.
  • Building strong relationships with the leadership team to ensure People plan progress.
  • Promoting change in line with standard methodologies, identifying process improvements, and implementing colleague-centric practices to drive business outcomes.
  • Enhancing leadership and people manager capability through coaching.
  • Designing and implementing programs for employee engagement and well-being.
  • Resolving complex employee issues while maintaining a positive work environment.

What our client is looking for:

  • Proven experience in strategic HR leadership with a minimum 4 year experience in a similar role.
  • Diligent and firm with high ethical standards.
  • Senior HR experience at a People Director level
  • Evidence of people culture development and transformation projects.
  • Experience managing change and transformation, building culture, and focusing on competencies and behaviours.
  • Creativity in everything that you do. You think outside the box in the day to day.
  • Experience in people practices that can be adapted to my clients environment.
  • A true believer in people potential and business culture.
  • A track record of making tough decisions assertively yet humanely.
  • Ability to think strategically and deliver operationally.
  • Experience working in cross-cultural, and interdependent teams
  • Proactive in leading this team and strategy to the next level.
  • Strategic thinking and operational skills to support both the People agenda and overall company strategy.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to establish trust and respect at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Ideally have an CIPD Level 7 qualification.
