Nestled between the Peak District and the urban landscape of Manchester, this post is an exciting opportunity to develop partnerships and lead the delivery of visitor programmes and participation opportunities at one of the National Trust's most visited places. From the family offer during school holidays, to detailed and specialist programming focused on how we look after collections, Grade-listed buildings, and landscapes, this is a truly wonderful opportunity to connect people to Lyme.

Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week. The role requires flexible working, including weekends and the occasional evening. Rotas are issued in advance and we'll always try to accommodate other commitments where possible.

Salary: FTE £26,832pa Actual £21,465pa

The Programme and Partnership post co-creates and co-produces the programming and participation opportunities for those who know the place like the back of their hand or those who have yet to visit.

The Senior Programming and Partnership Officer works closely with peers, colleagues, and volunteers to make truly feel like a place for everyone.?

With over 330,000 people visiting Lyme each year, it is a bustling and changing environment. You'll be responsible for using audience insight to establish partnerships and put in place a programme that delivers benefits and improves experiences.

It's an exciting time at Lyme, we have projects to improve our accessibility, experiences, and infrastructure. You'll play a key role in helping talk about what we're up to, with audiences of all ages.

What you'll be doing You'll be responsible for the creative development and delivery of an inspiring and engaging visitor programme, helping us deliver our strategic aims for the property.

You'll use programming to encourage new and repeat visits, meet the needs of a diverse audience, and help visitors connect with our cause. As well as collaborating with other teams on the property, you'll be working to build and maintain relationships with external partners to help us deliver a high-quality and consistent programme.

You'll be managing a team of volunteers to ensure the smooth delivery of all activities. You'll also be a part of a duty management team, ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly and ensuring a fantastic day out for our visitors. This role will include some weekend work (both as part of a duty management rota and visitor programme activity delivery).

Who we're looking for

To deliver this role successfully, you'll ideally have:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, e.g. budget management, keeping and updating records, meeting deadlines, etc.
  • Great people and communication skills, establishing positive relationships with both internal and external collaborators.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, contributing to a positive, inclusive, and productive place for staff and volunteers.
  • To be able to balance competing priorities and demands.
  • Experience in delivering visitor programmes and events and/or working with community or commercial partners to deliver events and activities.
  • Understanding of an audience-led approach and the ability to evaluate the impact and use of feedback to further develop and offer or event.
  • To be someone creative, ambitious, and able to draw creative ideas from their teams.
