Learning Support Assistant

LSA - Preston:

Prospero Teaching are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work in an excellent primary school near Preston.

You will be working in small groups and on a 1-1 basis to support students with SEN. Ideally, you will have previous experience supporting pupils with SEN or working within education.

Some pupils may present challenging behaviours so candidates must be comfortable working within environments like this.

THE ROLE:

  • Location: Preston
  • Position: Learning Support Assistant
  • Hours: 8am-3pm (term time only)
  • Type: Full time/Part time
  • Minimum rate of pay: £85 depending on experience
  • Start date: Dec 2024
  • End date: Ongoing
  • Contract type: Temporary

EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant experience in a school or similar setting.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and/or social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
  • Experience of effectively and positively managing a class and leading learning with groups of pupils, using appropriate strategies to enable them to settle to learn.
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable but training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
