The Role
The role of Senior Accountant will report into the Finance Director whilst also playing a key role across the finance function and throughout the business. This role will give a qualified accountant the opportunity to not only work on business-as-usual activities across the breadth of the organisation but also have a significant impact on improving processes and making the function more efficient and accurate.
- You will be involved in but not limited to the following duties:Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Review management accounts, budgets, cash flows.
- Supervise Finance Assistant/Senior Finance Assistant.
- Maintain and enhance appropriate accounting systems and reporting capabilities.
- Monitor compliance with banking covenants and liaise with bankers as necessary.
- Prepare quarterly Board papers.
- Develop periodic and annual budgets, including cash flow forecasts.
- Assist in providing modeling input to improve project cash flows and investment opportunities as required.
- Ensure adherence to group finance procedures, including the group reporting timetable.
- Produce annual statutory accounts and coordinate with the Company's auditors.
- To be considered for the role you must:Be a Qualified Accountant, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or similar
- Be able to demonstrate a strong detailed knowledge and understanding of management accounts preparation and journal preparation and processing.
- Have strong technical skills in relation to budget management and current accounting regulations
- Have good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Be able to analyse complex data to inform decision making
- Good knowledge and experience of using accountancy software systems
- Have good ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Be able to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Have strong communication, organisational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
- Have strong Excel experience
