Avenica is proud to partner with a leading Global Insurer seeking an experienced Underwriter to join their Accident and Health Team in London. This team specializes in providing personal accident, sickness, and travel coverage for both individuals and groups.

Key accountabilities
- Underwriting Excellence: Contribute significantly to the underwriting of the Accident & Health portfolio, ensuring high standards in both new and renewal business.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of underwriting decisions, capturing the rationale behind risk assessments and completing necessary data capture tools.
- Broker Relationships: Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with London Market brokers and clients, aiming to profitably grow the business while delivering excellent customer service.
- Wordings and Compliance: Collaborate with Legal & Compliance teams to review and assess policy wordings and underwriting criteria.
- Financial Planning: Set accurate premium forecasts and business plans to enable management to establish realistic budgets and performance targets.
- Risk Calculation: Evaluate potential risks and determine appropriate insurance premiums using actuarial data, statistics, and personal judgment, ensuring adherence to underwriting authority levels and company policy.
- Reporting: Prepare reports for internal use, supporting decision-making and strategy development.
Skills & experience
- Experience: A minimum of five years in the insurance industry, with a strong focus on Accident & Health business and coverage design.
- Industry Knowledge: Demonstrable expertise in Accident & Health underwriting, with established relationships with London Market brokers.
- Professional Qualifications: ACII-qualified or actively working towards completion.
- Proven Track Record: Prior experience and success in a similar underwriting role.
