Position Overview - Banking Associate (Global Law Firm)

On behalf of my client, a leading global law firm, I am are seeking a highly motivated Senior Banking Associate to join their dynamic finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a broad range of clients, including prominent lenders and borrowers. You will play a key role in complex lending transactions, representing a diverse range of funders such as banks, insurers, and debt funds, as well as some of Scotland's largest corporates. Key Responsibilities

  • Working on a variety of finance transactions, representing both lenders and borrowers.
  • Acting for a broad spectrum of clients, including major banks, insurers, debt funds, and corporates.
  • Involvement in all aspects of lending, from structuring to closing transactions.
  • Active participation in the firm's business development and marketing initiatives.

Candidate Profile

My Client is seeking candidates with between two and seven years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in general banking law, either under Scots or English law. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Strong experience in corporate banking, gained within a private practice setting.
  • A solid understanding of current trends and developments in finance law.
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple transactions.
  • A team-oriented approach, coupled with the initiative to work independently when needed.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • A proactive approach to building client relationships and solving client issues.
  • A keen interest in business development and growing the firm's client base.
