Health and Social Care Lecturer
- Working hours: Full-time 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9-5.
- Location: South Shields
- Job type: contracted role for 3 months, with possible view to extend
- Salary: £130-£180 per day dependant on experience
- Start date: 6th September
We are seeking a dedicated Health and Social Care Lecturer to join a College based in South Shields. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, preparing, and delivering high-quality education and training programmes in health and social care. This role is pivotal in supporting the College's objectives and providing a comprehensive learning experience for our students.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Prepare and deliver course material across a range of programmes, including classroom teaching, tutorial work, and assessment activities.
- Engage in residential courses, open and distance learning cases, and oversee student placements as required.
- Provide effective counselling and tutorial services to students on various matters, including academic, non-academic, and welfare.
- Manage course administration and contribute to curriculum development, ensuring courses meet student requirements and standards.
- Maintain accurate class registers, records, and provide reports as and when required
- Support extra-curricular activities and the delivery of key skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Health and Social Care.
- Experience in lecturing or teaching, preferably within the health and social care sector.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development and educational best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide mentorship and support to students
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
