Assistant Accountant
- Annual Salary: Up to £33,000
- Location: Faversham
- Job Type: 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) with potential for permanent position
We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our growing manufacturing company on a 12-month FTC. This role is to cover for an existing team member who is completing a project elsewhere within the company. There is potential for this role to become permanent for the right candidate.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Support the month-end and year-end close process.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial documents, as well as their compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Prepare and maintain important financial reports.
- Prepare tax documents and perform audits.
- Help with budget preparation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or relevant role in accounting.
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant accounting software (e.g., SAP).
- Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the superb organisational skills
- AAT qualification or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) is desirable.
