Senior Residential Support Worker

Location: Droitwich
Salary: £34,320.00 (including Sleep-in duties of £75 per sleep)
Working Hours: 173 hours a month including additional sleep-in duties

Our client is dedicated to providing the highest quality care and therapeutic support to children and young people with EBD. They strive to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the well-being and development of every individual in their care.

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the Registered Manager in delivering top-quality childcare in a safe, care-focused environment. You will have initial responsibilities for monitoring and supervising staff, managing day-to-day operations, and guiding colleagues, ensuring the welfare and care of our young people is fully met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the team in providing the highest quality care and therapeutic support to children.
  • Take charge of the Home's management and other duties in the absence of the Home Manager and Deputy Manager.
  • Assist in providing therapeutic care and maintaining children's files.
  • Ensure daily tasks are performed in line with expectations (e.g., Petty Cash, Medication administration, H&S).
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide/implement advice as necessary.
  • Actively participate in the care team rota, including care and domestic duties, accompanying children to school, activities, appointments, and supporting them during the day and night (sleep-in duties).
  • Ensure all work is in line with statutory regulations (e.g., Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Children's Homes Quality Standards).
  • Engage in regular supervision, performance reviews, and training for personal development.
  • Support safeguarding practices and raise concerns when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with GDPR guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a residential childcare setting with a Level 3 or 4 in Working with Children and Young People.
  • Strong understanding of EBD and therapeutic care practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and statutory regulations compliance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
