Our client is a leading supplier to the mechanical and electrical market in the UK. Due to expansion, they are looking to recruit an experienced Specification Engineer to drive sales within the M&E sector.
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will spend approximately 85-90% of your time with mechanical and electrical contractors, gaining specifications for current and future projects, and the remaining time with consultants and architects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify new customers who would benefit from company products and maximize potential across the UK.
- Develop long-term relationships with customers by managing and interpreting their requirements.
- Persuade clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price, and delivery.
- Administer client accounts.
- Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education.
- Prepare reports for senior management and maintain customer records via the company CRM system.
- Achieve annual sales and gross profit targets.
- Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
- Generate high-quality sales leads and follow up to a successful conclusion.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A solid technical background with either a formal qualification or a minimum of 5 years related sales experience.
- Strong selling and communication skills.
- Sound judgement and good business sense.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Capability to build relationships quickly and effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
