As a Market Risk Manager covering the Rates Non-Linear business, you will ensure the effective risk management and oversight of one of the most successful and growing businesses within Global Rates . You will partner with colleagues who focus on Valuation management to raise the level of Market Risk awareness across the function and ensure understanding of all the possible drivers of Profit and Loss . Working directly with the traders within a very dynamic and cooperative team, your decisions will ensure we can successfully support business growth within the bank's Risk Appetite.

Your key responsibilities

  • Daily monitoring of risk, stress and Value-at-Risk ( VaR ) exposures, ensuring risk completeness and accuracy (for example by monitoring closely and understanding the P rofit & L oss drivers every day)
  • Developing risk reports (including reviewing current reporting and implementing changes) which provide comprehensive high-level view of the complex risks in the portfolio (for the eyes of senior management)
  • Liaising with desk starts and quants teams to enhance reporting protocols and provide bespoke analysis as required
  • Running stress testing analyses to better quantify the different cross-asset and non-linear risks that the desk runs
  • Keeping abreast of latest news and possible implications to the markets and the positions that the desk runs
  • Liaising with trading desks with respect to exposures, new business and market activity

Your skills and experience

  • Experience in market risk management, either as a second line (market risk) or as a first line (trading, structuring) of defence, ideally in Rates. Experience in roles such as valuation will be considered
  • Experience in markets-related roles, with great understanding of the impact of financial and economic events on markets and market risk positions
  • Numerical skills and ability to understand and represent data, in Excel and/or Python
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, working with a variety of teams, communicating well and concisely
  • Innovative and someone who can works collaboratively in a team with diverse skillsets
