Location - Medway, Kent

Salary - Up to £16.90 p/h doe

Benefits - Hybrid working

Hours - 37.5 hours per week

Contract 6-months

My client a local council is looking to recruit an experienced Tenancy Management Officer on a contract basis, you will be required to work 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities for the role of Tenancy Management Officer

  • To engage, develop and maintain effective working relationships with tenants, leaseholders, to engage their support in providing housing services, paying their rent, developing resident involvement initiatives, maintaining their property/tenancy and lease conditions.
  • Ensuring tenants/leaseholders comply with the terms and conditions of tenancy/lease/licence agreements and the appropriate action is taken where necessary, including all housing-related income is collected
  • To be the lead officer for the designated patch for the management of void properties that are vacated to ensure they have speedily let in conjunction with other teams.
  • To conduct regular tenancy audits to enable the authority to confirm tenancy and to identify any cases of tenancy fraud.
  • To be responsible for day-to-day resident involvement activities, attending resident meetings and developing opportunities for involvement such as fun days and individual mechanisms in conjunction with the Resident Engagement Officer.
  • On a rota basis manage the specific site including rent arrears and site management.

Skills and Experience for the role of Tenancy Management Officer

Essential:

  • Experience in undertaking customer consultation events and liaising with customers of proposals for estate-based projects.
  • Knowledge of current housing issues and housing finance.
  • Experience of delivering a speedy and focussed response when dealing with anti-social behaviour
  • Experience of property inspections to accurately record any repairs or maintenance issues
  • Demonstrates the ability to deal with high levels of work-related pressure, for example from deadlines, interruptions, or conflicting demands
  • Demonstrable ability to carry out tasks and/or advise on internal procedures, which impact the health and well-being of people
  • Demonstrable ability to handle and process cash/documentation relating to considerable financial amounts accurately
  • Ability to deal with challenging customer/s, to remain calm under pressure
  • Must hold a valid and current full driving license and daily access to a vehicle is essential.
