Mechanical Development Engineer

Are you ready to help design the cooling systems of tomorrow? Our client, DENSO Marston Ltd, a global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance heat exchange units and cooling modules, is seeking a talented Development Engineer to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in the development of cutting-edge engine cooling systems for off-highway, agricultural and construction vehicles. Based in Shipley, West Yorkshire, this role combines technical design, project ownership, and collaborative innovation within a forward-thinking manufacturing environment.

Working Hours & Benefits

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
  • Friday: 08:30 – 13:30
  • Flexible and hybrid working options available (1 day WFH – excluding Fridays)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage product development projects from concept through to mass production
  • Deliver robust designs that meet customer specifications and performance targets
  • Perform thermodynamic and fluid transfer calculations using internal and external tools
  • Conduct design evaluations via theoretical tools, CAD (CREO), and prototype testing
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including validation, manufacturing, and engineering
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Occasional UK and overseas travel may be required

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (with a strong mechanical bias)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an engineering design or development role
  • Automotive industry experience preferred but not essential
  • Project management experience within a technical environment
  • Strong 3D/2D design experience (preferably CREO) including GD&T knowledge
  • Familiarity with CFD, FEA, and numerical analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
