Job Opportunity: Chemistry and Physics Teacher (Full-Time, Long-Term)
Location: Orpington, Greater London
Start Date: ASAP - December 2024 (Potential for Extension)

We are recruiting on behalf of a popular secondary school in the Orpington area, looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Teacher of Chemistry and Physics to join their Science department. This is a long-term, full-time position with an opportunity to extend to a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Chemistry and Physics, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for students.
  • Develop resources and syllabuses and contribute to the overall departmental plan.
  • Participate in quality assurance, helping to monitor and evaluate the Science curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate records and track student progress to support individual learning.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders to support student development.
  • Serve as a form tutor, contributing to the school's pastoral care system and providing guidance to a group of students.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree in a science-related subject.
  • Experienced in teaching Science, particularly Chemistry and Physics, across secondary schools and further education.
  • Has a genuine passion for working with young people and enjoys fostering a dynamic, stimulating learning environment.
  • Punctual, trustworthy, and a strong team player, with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with both students and staff.
