Your New Role

Within your new role as HR Advisor, you will play a crucial part in delivering proactive operational HR services to managers across the organisation, managing and supporting your own departments, operating in a generalist capacity. You will be responsible for providing advice, support, and guidance on a wide range of HR issues, ensuring compliance with policies and employment legislation.

As HR Advisor, some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing advice and support to managers on a wide range of HR issues and policy and procedure.
  • Providing support regarding absence, performance, and discipline and grievance.
  • Coordination of the recruitment process.
  • Coaching and training for staff & management.
  • Policy work. (Developing, reviewing & implementing).
  • Continuous improvement and enhancement of HR process and practice.
  • Collaboration with managers to develop key relationships.
  • Utilising Data & MI to inform senior leaders and support business improvement.
  • Support with Change Management Processes.
  • Demonstrating a proactive approach to DEI.
  • Championing the commitment to putting people first and promoting values of fairness, respect, and quality.

What you need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Excellent working knowledge of HR and employee relations functions e.g. recruitment and selection, disciplinary and grievance, sickness/absence management, induction, performance, and management of human resource information.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a HR environment, in a similar capacity, providing advice and support to managers on a wide range of employment issues.
  • Ability to communicate and liaise with staff at all levels.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law.
  • Commitment to the principles of valuing diversity and equal opportunities.
